He did take care of the kid bcz he believed it was his. Just like the Emperor is taking care of the tiny princess bcz he believed the child was his. Of course we all know that Trashta can’t seem to say no, so the likely hood of the children being actual full blood siblings is very small. Though I have to say they look like little carbon copies. If she does nothing else she can make cute kids.
Be in his shoes, he believes navier can’t have a child because of some poisoned cookies she ate. Solution? He brings a woman, have a child with her. Divorce Navier and marry rashta. Baby is born, divorce rashta (he have a huge file with her faults recorded) and remarry Navier, make her acknowledge rashta ‘s child as her so the heir is legitimate!
1st mistake: he didn’t talked about it to his queen. Our queen isn’t a regular pawn.
2nd mistake, he was an ass to her. Trusting his mistress and not his queen.
