The crown prince isn’t really in love with Hestia per se. He really just admires her hard work and wishes more than anything that Diana could be just as dedicated and responsible. The entire time they’ve been married, for less than a year, Diana has been irresponsible, hiding things, lying, stepping on people’s toes, and causing political blunders. Meanwhile he gave up his friendship with Kael, the head maid who basically raised him, and a lot of good opportunities to clean up after her. As much as he genuinely loves Diana, he is a prince first and needs to put the nation first, and Diana makes it REALLY hard to do that.
Diana knew what she was getting into when she married Helios. She chose him because he had the most power and influence. She wanted the prestige of being the crown princess, but is very narrow minded and arrogant. Instead of learning and adapting to social rules to further her causes and beliefs or rejecting aristocracy entirely, She wants to have her cake and eat it too. Even without Hestia’s meddling she would have made a fool of herself and ruined her marriage because she’s too selfish to be a PARTNER to Heli and instead wants him to do everything she wants without question.
Meanwhile Hestia is faithful, kind, intelligent, and has adapted well to aristocracy despite being born a commoner. She works hard to learn etiquette and social rules despite not even being from this world (though Heli doesn’t know that) and is innovative in ways that benefit other people like with her spreadsheets and foresight. Despite being married, she has done things for the betterment of the country not just to secure herself more power and status.
In the end, despite loving Diana, Helios divorces her as she is bad at being a princess and doesn’t respect him as her partner. He marries another woman who is respectable and level headed to help him rule the country. Which is a lesson that just because you love someone doesn’t mean they’re a good match for you and oftentimes you need more than love to make a marriage work. After all, Kael was still in love with Diana when he married Hes, and now he’s head over heels in love with her because she’s kind and dedicated and intelligent. If Diana had chosen Kael, no doubt she would have made him just as miserable over time.
I’m gonna say this for once and for all: THE Prince is no less than innocent compared to Diana. Diana has a one track mind and crown prince was selfish. Kinda annoying to see more his pov, trying to portray him to be the second ml.
